matilda was born in firwirk but was sent to westerford at an early age where she grew up in the vast farmlands, she often unconsciously pined for colder climates and it manifested as restlessness. though living in a land of plenty had it perks - she matured into a strong and robust adult canterwit. such was her endurance that she was frequently sent to the furthest northern reaches of earth to spread dogwoods amongst the shrubs in spring.
as a natural delamere, matilda is outgoing, boisterous, loves good competition and this makes her obstinate and headstrong, even in her old age. she pitches headfirst without considering another canter's council, usually believing herself right out of pure moxie. however, she is a considerate and encouraging mentor to others when not in the game, finding joy in spending her retirement imparting knowledge to young canterwits. her reputation amongst the bloom generation has given her the nickname 'meemaw tilly', not many call or even know her by matilda.
she would fight a fellow canter for an apple.
